Speech recognition is at the center of our technology, so we’ve thought long and hard about which ASR works best for transcribing voice commands given to Merlyn, our AI-powered digital assistant.

To help others looking for the best ASR, we're open-sourcing an internal harness tool called SpeechLoop that we’ve developed to evaluate multiple cloud and local speech systems on a fixed dataset. This tool already includes three cloud engines and three local engines (with many more coming soon).
